Information

Here at 124 N Carlisle Street in McKinney we consider ourselves a non-denominational Christian Church. It is not our intent to use the term “non-denominational” to insult the mainline Christian Churches. They are our precious brethren in the Lord. We highly regard any unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as the only way of salvation. Further, we agree that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We fully agree with their observance of the two ordinances of water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We share with the mainline Christian Churches many wonderful traditions.

However, our concern is that some traditions make “void” the Word of God. Some of the Christian Church congregations place such emphasis upon water baptism that some believe that there is  “magic” in the water. We do not subscribe to “baptismal-regeneration”. The Scriptures clearly teach that salvation comes by grace through faith. However, the Bible teaches the necessity of water baptism as well. It is the initial act of obedience.

We are non-traditional in that we do not read the New Testament as some read the book of Leviticus. We do not believe that Christians are under the strict letter of the Law but are under grace. Consequently, we are free to love the brethren of all denominations. We feel that we are free not to judge those of differing views. Moreover, we are quite sure that the Holy Spirit is capable of crossing denominational lines and bring to faith those whom the Lord God has elected to be his very own. Yes, we believe that “Whosoever will” may come. We claim a spiritual affinity to all that accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Again, from our non-traditional perspective we differ with mainline churches in our hermeneutic of pre-millennialism. It is not the purpose of this article to argue the point. However, in order to clarify the issue, we believe that we are presently living in the age of grace. The next great event in the future of the Church will be the rapture of the Church. The Church as the bride of Christ will leave the earth to meet the Lord in the air and then return with Christ to heaven, to live for a seven-year period. During that time, the anti-Christ will wreak havoc on the earth. The twenty-one judgements of Revelation will fall on all the earth-dwellers. At the end of the seven-year period, Jesus Christ and the Church will return to earth and the Kingdom Age will begin. Jesus will sit on the throne of David in Jerusalem and will rule the earth in perfect peace and justice. His bride (the Church) will assist Him in various administrative ways. We will rule and reign with Him for a thousand years, and then move into eternity. Scripture supports such a belief and we will document with scriptures in forth-coming issues.

We want to be up-front with you that we are different from the main-line Churches. We may not be your cup of tea and that is all right. If you attend a bible believing Church where Jesus is preached as the only way of salvation, where the Scriptures are regarded as the word of God, and where the soon return of the Lord is taught on a continuing basis, then by all means, remain and involve yourself in the life of your church.

We are not into rustling other Churches’ members. However, if you relate to small churches you might want to consider us. You will discover a congregation of approximately 30 members who will greet you with genuine enthusiasm. Your acceptance is a fore-gone conclusion!

Come and see us—you hear? We will keep the light on for you!
